When it comes to rhinoplasty, hire the best

Quality is worth paying for

If you need rhinoplasty in Charlotte NC, it makes sense to pay for the most experienced surgeon you can find. The cost of a nose job includes the operating room fee, surgeon’s fee and anesthesiologist fee. None of these are things you want to cut corners on, so be suspicious of anyone offering a nose job for $1,000 or less. You could go to a university where plastic surgery is taught and arrange for the residents in training to do it for less, but do you really want to?

How to get the most out of your nose job

Before the surgery, stop smoking and don’t take aspirin or ibuprofen. You won’t be able to drive home afterward, so either get someone to drive you or call a cab. For the first two to three days afterward, take your antibiotics and follow your surgeon’s advice on cold packs. Find something you can still eat, and drink a lot of fluids. When you sleep, keep your head elevated to reduce swelling.

For the next couple of weeks, don’t wear any kind of clothing that presses against your nose as you put it on or take it off. Take your temperature often to make sure you’re not getting a fever. Don’t drink alcohol for the first three weeks. If you smoke, don’t start smoking again until you’re done healing.

Also, don’t blow your nose. This may sound like something that would be hard to avoid, but the odds of it happening can be greatly reduced if you minimize your exposure to other humans (thereby minimizing your risk of a cold or flu), wash your hands regularly, trying not to touch your face and staying away from anything you’re allergic to.

Don’t do anything that might raise the blood pressure in your head, such as bending over, doing exercises or lifting anything heavier than a gallon of milk. Most of all, stay in touch with your surgeon and wait until the swelling is completely down before you decide if you like your new nose.
