Neck Lift Surgery
With every neck lift he performs, Charlotte, NC facial plastic surgeon Dr. Sean Freeman’s goal is to provide a rejuvenated appearance without making a patient’s skin look stretched or “operated-on.” To achieve this goal, he employs state-of-the-art techniques refined through many years of experience.
Patients who choose Dr. Freeman at The Center for Facial Plastic and Laser Surgery are choosing a physician who has specialized in lasers and facial cosmetic surgery since 1988. Our motto is “Only Faces, Only the Best Care.” To learn how Dr. Freeman delivers high quality care for his neck lift patients, you can request your consultation online to receive $25 off your consultation fee or call his office at (704) 543-1110.
Dr. Freeman will assess the thickness, texture and elasticity of the skin, and the severity of the patient’s wrinkles and folds. The hairline will be examined to determine where incisions can be placed. Facial structure will be carefully considered and surgery individually tailored, each patient benefiting from Dr. Freeman’s years of experience dedicated exclusively to aesthetic facial surgery.
Some patients let their hair grow to allow the incisions to be easily covered as they heal. Anyone who wishes to lose more than 15 pounds and maintain this new weight should discuss this during the initial consultation.
Dr. Freeman will hide the incision in the contour of your ear, then extend the incision around the earlobe and back into your hairline. Following surgery, these incisions can be easily concealed by hair or with makeup. After the skin has been repositioned up and back, the excess is removed. The deeper tissues of the neck will also be repositioned to provide natural-looking rejuvenation. A small incision beneath the chin may be used to aid in lipo-sculpting the fatty tissue and smoothing the cord-like structures of the underlying muscle in the neck. Neck lifts are often performed in conjunction with a face lift in Charlotte, NC.
You will be provided with a complete set of instructions to follow before and after surgery to help insure that incisions heal uneventfully. Most patients find that they are comfortable returning to work 10 to 14 days after their neck lift in North Carolina. However, it is probably best to let 6 weeks elapse after surgery before scheduling any major social events such as a wedding.
While a neck lift performed by Dr. Freeman will create significantly smoother, more pleasing contours to your neck, it is not designed to address conditions such as sagging eyebrows, fatty deposits in the eyelids, wrinkles around the mouth, jowls or mid-face sagging. Conditions such as these are improved based on individual needs using other surgical procedures such as an endoscopic brow lift, transconjunctival SOOF lift (developed by Dr. Freeman), face lift or eyelid lift in Charlotte.
