The benefits of an endoscopic brow lift

The endoscopic browlift has many benefits

If your face is starting to show its age or you have wrinkles or a sagging brow, Dr. M. Sean Freeman, Charlotte’s top facial plastic surgeon can perform an endoscopic browlift to help improve your appearance.   The endoscopic browlift is a procedure perfected by Dr. Freeman and which does not leave you with that look of surprise which can happen with a classic brow lift.  Most plastic surgeons are trained to perform the classic browlift where they make an ear-to-ear incision and then pull the brow up and back.  This procedure can often result in the patient looking artificially surprised.  The classic browlift also requires more healing time than the endoscopic browlift and may leave more scarring.

Preparing for the endoscopic browlift procedure

When you are considering a browlift, it is a good idea to schedule a consultation appointment with Dr. Freeman at his Charlotte NC clinic, The Center for Facial and Plastic Laser Surgery.  During your consultation appointment, Dr. Freeman will evaluate your skin and facial structure and recommend the right procedure for you.  Dr. Freeman will also discuss your goals for this procedure and your medical history.   Dr. Freeman may recommend additional procedures, depending upon your situation.  These may include an eyelid lift or SOOF lift blepharoplasty.  Dr. Freeman may also suggest certain lifestyle changes as your prepare for your browlift.  This is especially true if you smoke.

The endoscopic browlift procedure

Dr. Freeman is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon who has more than twenty years of experience working on faces.  He developed a unique approach to endoscopic browlift surgery which helps ensure a natural and predictable result.  He has performed this procedure for more than ten years and presented his innovative approach to the Academy of Facial Plastic Surgeons in 2013.  He will perform your endoscopic browlift at his clinic in Charlotte NC.  This is a state-of-the-art equipped facility where Dr. Freeman performs his outpatient procedures.  During your endoscopic browlift, Dr. Freeman will make a series of small incisions along your brow.  He will then insert an endoscope which is a small cameral on the end of a flexible tube.  Using this camera, Dr. Freeman will perform one of three types of brow lifts: a lateral brow lift, a ¾ brow lift, or a full browlift.  Dr. Freeman tailors the type of browlift to your personal situation to ensure your results from the endoscopic browlift are natural and attractive.

Recovery after the endoscopic browlift

Following your endoscopic browlift procedure, Dr. Freeman will provide you with instructions that you should follow carefully.  You will have stitches, as well as bruising and swelling.  There are infrequent complications from the endoscopic browlift, although you may experience some itching and numbness immediately following surgery.  Dr. Freeman will prescribe pain medication following the procedure, typically for 24 to 48 hours.  Any bruising or swelling will disappear within ten to fourteen days.
