Overview Minitucks
Minitucks are a cosmetic procedure similar to a facelift or mini-facelift to reverse the signs of aging by targeting certain areas of the face and neck. Aging causes wrinkles and sagging skin on your face and neck, which typically becomes noticeable in your 40s and 50s. Consultation Minitucks
First, your surgeon will meet with you for a physical examination and a discussion of your goals. The examination includes an analysis of your skin’s thickness, elasticity, texture, and severity of folds and wrinkles. Your surgeon will also look at your hairline and facial structure, as this is where incisions are made. Lastly, you can discuss your surgical goals and expectations with your surgeon.
Procedure Minitucks
During the procedure, incisions are made along your hairline from your ears to temples. The skin and tissue are carefully repositions to appear tighter, but not stretched. Additionally, a small incision may be made under the chin, through which extra fat in the neck region is liposuctioned. Recovery takes 10 to 14 days, though swelling can last several weeks.
Alternative Procedures
There are a few different kinds of facelift alternatives, made to suit your specific needs, age, and desired outcome. The SignatureLift is ideal for younger candidates who do not need a deep place facelift. Similar to a weekend facelift, the SignatureLift is also best for patients who have already have a facelift, and have started to notice further signs of aging. As opposed to a traditional facelift, it requires less recovery time, and focuses on the neck and jowls. It can be done under sedation, rather than general amnesia, although that is always an option. Sutures are visible for up to 6 days, and are mostly covered by your hair, and swelling and bruising are minimal. For sagging eyebrows, under eye bags, or heavy and drooping eyelids, an eyelid lift or brow lift may be the best option. As an alternative to surgery altogether, you can also opt for last skin rejuvenation or injectable fillers. This is often referred to as a liquid facelift, and is a non-invasive alternative to surgery that requires little downtime or recovery.
