Frequently asked questions about a Charlotte brow lift

Brow lift: Frequently asked questions

Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions about brow lift.

What is an endoscopic brow lift?

An endoscopic browlift involves the use of a device called an endoscope, which is equipped with a tiny light and camera and can be inserted under the skin of the forehead through an incision. This lets the surgeon see precisely how muscles and sinews are attached to the skin and bone of the patient’s forehead and plan the surgery accordingly.

What are the different kinds of a brow lift?

In Charlotte, there is a lateral brow lift, which is appropriate in cases where the skin is sagging more around the temples than in the center. An asymmetric browlift is used in cases where more of the sagging is on one side than on another. A full browlift and a three-quarter brow lift are used in slightly different cases when all parts of the forehead need to be lifted. In addition, slightly different procedures can be used on men and women.

How long is the recovery time for a brow lift, and how do I take care of myself during the recovery?

The official recovery time for a browlift is usually about two weeks. That said, it will be at least three weeks before you should do anything strenuous that might raise your blood pressure. As with any cosmetic surgery, you should stop smoking for about two weeks before the procedure, since nicotine slows healing, and stay off cigarettes until you’re sure you’re fully healed. After the surgery, you’ll need pain medication for one or two days. To speed the healing process, sleep in a lounge chair and get one of those neck pillows people use on airplanes so as to keep your head elevated. Don’t take aspirin, and don’t chew anything too long.
