Types of face lift
Every face lift is individually tailored to the patient, but there are two broad categories of face lift, both of which are available in Charlotte. Deep plane face lift
In this operation, the surgeon repositions the skin and deeper tissues of the face, makes an incision under the chin and lifts the fatty tissues in the neck area. The surgeon sometimes also shaves the backs of the submandibular glands if this will improve the appearance of the patient’s cheeks.
A face lift is often performed alongside other cosmetic surgical procedures, such as an endoscopic brow lift or eyelid surgery, because the goal of all these operations is to restore the original, youthful appearance of the face.
The swelling after a deep plane face lift tends to last longer than in other forms of face lift. You should be able to return to normal activity within two weeks, but it may be several weeks before your face looks the way you want it to. In the meantime, avoid smoking, get plenty of rest and be gentle with your face.
Deep plane minituck
In the deep plane minituck, the muscles and tissue are under the skin of the cheeks. This is used in cases where there is loose skin around the midface, neck and near the mouth, with less fat around the jowls. Recovery time is shorter than in a deep plane facelift.
