Eyebrow lift- how is it done in Charlotte, NC?

Eyebrow lift- learning more

Eyebrow lift- what is it? The simplest way to describe an eyebrow lift is to say that it is generally performed by pulling the skin of the forehead up, and the eyebrows with it. This eliminates the sagging, overhanging brows that are a sign of advancing age and in some cases interfere with vision by making it hard to open your eyes all the way.

But of course, there is more to it than that, especially nowadays in Charlotte, NC. Simply pulling the skin straight up, and the eyebrows alone with it, leads to the perpetually surprised expression that is a sign of a badly done eyebrow lift. A better approach is the endoscopic brow lift. In order to do this, the surgeon makes incisions behind the hairline and inserts the tiny light and camera of an endoscope, using these to photograph the structure of the forehead muscles and attachments. This lets the surgeon customize the surgery for the individual patient, creating the most natural possible look.

Getting ready for the eyebrow lift

For the two weeks or so before surgery, you should stop smoking and drinking. You should also avoid certain herbal supplements, which can cause excess bleeding. Get someone to drive you home after the surgery, and give yourself at least a week at home to recover.

As with any surgery, the recovery will be uncomfortable. There may also be some itching or numbness, as well as hair loss in the vicinity of the incisions. Use the pain medication your surgeon prescribes, instead of aspirin or ibuprofen. To reduce swelling, try to keep your head elevated, especially when you sleep. Use a cold compress, if your surgeon recommends it. Try not to eat anything that takes too much chewing. The general recovery time for a brow lift is about two weeks, but it happens in stages. If you have an office job, you can probably go back to work within a week, but if your job is more physically demanding you should wait up to a month.
