Eye lift surgery by Charlotte’s best facial plastic surgeon

Eye lift surgery by Charlotte’s best facial plastic surgeon

Dr. M Sean Freeman, Charlotte’s best facial plastic surgeon performs eye lift surgery to improve the appearance of your eyelids.  This type of facial plastic surgery, also known as upper lid blepharoplasty, is performed by Dr. Freeman at his state-of-the-art clinic in Charlotte NC.   Dr. Freeman brings more than twenty years of experience to the operating suite and is board certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology.  If you want to improve the appearance of your eye lids, schedule a consultation appointment with Dr. Freeman to discuss your goals and his recommendations.

Most individuals consider upper lid blepharoplasty to reduce the signs of aging experience.  Younger patients may elect eye lift surgery to correct inherited traits which are making them appear older than they are.  During the upper eyelift, Dr. Freeman will make small incisions on the eye lid, typically within the crease of the lid, to remove fat and skin and improve the appearance of the eye lid.  Dr. Freeman tailors each eye lift surgery to the patient.

If a patient has severe sagging in their eye lid, Dr. Freeman may decide to remove muscle tissue as well as skin.  When patients have excess skin and fat in their eye lid, it can create an appearance of aging and puffiness.  This condition may also block the patient’s vision. Drooping eyelids can be caused by nerve damage or poor muscle tone.  If a patient requires eye lift surgery to correct sagging which is blocking their vision, the procedure may be covered by insurance.

Before, during and after eye lift surgery

Before deciding on eyelift surgery, it is important to meet with Dr. Freeman to discuss the surgery and your desired results.  Dr. Freeman and his medical staff at The Center for Facial and Plastic Laser Surgery in Charlotte NC, will provide you with pre-operative instructions which you should carefully follow.

Following upper eye lift surgery, your recovery should be relatively short.  You will normally experience some swelling and bruising the day after surgery, but these will begin to quickly disappear.  You may return to most normal activities within seven to ten days.  Depending upon the type of work you do, you may be able to return within a few days or need to take off at least a week. You should avoid any strenuous activities which may cause damage or touching of the face for at least two weeks. You may have thin bandages over the sites of the incisions and these will be removed within a few days.  Dr. Freeman places any incisions within the natural contour of the upper eyelid, so they are not visible once they are healed.
