Charlotte’s best brow lift surgery expert explains expectations after brow lift surgery

Brow lift surgery can help you deal with wrinkles and rejuvenate your appearance

Charlotte’s best brow lift surgery expert understands that most patients have high expectations with the procedure results. A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is a cosmetic surgical surgery that tries to realign a heavy or drooping brow for a more lifted, youthful appearance and to smooth out wrinkles and creases across the forehead and the bridge of the nose.

By lifting and tightening the localized soft tissue and skin, a brow lift procedure will shape the forehead and enhance symmetry. It is frequently done in conjunction with a facelift or blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). It’s critical to know what to anticipate following surgery if you’re thinking about getting a brow lift to improve and rejuvenate your appearance. You should be aware of the following.

Recovery stages

24-hours

You will be allowed to go for a short period of surveillance after your surgery and recover at home. It is crucial that you have someone to drive you home, remain with you, and assist with your care for the first 24 to 48 hours. Your surgeon may advise you to leave your bandages in place for at least 24 hours. For at least the first 48 hours, you should maintain an elevated position while sleeping, sitting as upright as you can, and utilizing additional pillows. After 24 hours, most patients can shower, but be sure to get your plastic surgeon’s okay first. After having brow lift surgery, stay away from alcohol, aspirin, and anti-inflammatory drugs for at least 24 hours. You can expect a recommendation for painkillers from your plastic surgeon.

First week

You can have some minor discomfort and soreness once the anesthetic and drugs used during surgery wear off. You’ll probably start to see some swelling and bruising at this point as well. Flexible cold compresses, like ice packs made of gel or frozen pea sacks, will reduce swelling and lessen some pain. Short, slow walks will aid in your recovery and reduce some post-surgical dangers, such as blood clots, but you should avoid strenuous activity for at least a week following surgery. Only when your plastic surgeon has given his or her approval should you begin these activities. You can continue taking showers after the first 24-48 hours, but avoid using too hot water.

Weeks two to four

You should feel mainly well and like yourself by the end of week 2. After two weeks, the majority of patients are fit to resume their jobs or other regular activities. Any remaining bruising should be readily concealed with makeup once the majority of the swelling has subsided. You can anticipate your incision sites to finish healing and start to disappear over the course of the following several weeks, along with any minor swelling that may still be present. You’ll probably be able to resume some form of physical activity but only on the recommendation of your plastic surgeon.
