The brow lift surgery
A brow lift surgery, also referred to as a forehead lift, can have a striking impact on facial rejuvenation – and this procedure does not involve a long recovery time.
As a person, our face is where we create our initial impressions. Do they look healthy, tired, lively, older, sad, or angry? It’s all in the face and much of it is focused on the eyes and the eyebrows. When we grow older, our brows tend to sag and even the most upbeat expression is marred by an unintended tired or angry look. Should this be your case, a brow lift surgery can produce a dramatic improvement in your look.
Types of brow lift surgery techniques
The brow lift can be achieved via several methods. Depending on your goals, the surgeon may apply one or more specific techniques.
- Endoscopic brow lift. This technique consists of using a small endoscope to see underlying muscles and tissues via a series of small incisions, the forehead skin is lifted and anchored in place with sutures.
- Coronal brow lift. This technique consists of making an incision behind the hairline across the top of the head and extending from ear to ear. After the lift, sutures are applied in such a way as to hide the scars behind the hairline.
- Hairline brow lift. This technique is for people with high, receding hairlines, this technique does not require the hairline to be pulled back.
Brow lift surgery recovery time
The brow lift pain or discomfort of the procedure is usually reported as minimal with a fairly quick recovery. If staples are used because of proximity to the hairline, this may require some extra time before it comes out. Any discomfort or tightness should disappear within a few days of the surgical procedure without the need for prescription medications. Normally, patients should be able to return to their normal daily life within a week, sometimes less. Strenuous activity, gym workouts, or sports should be put on hold for three to four weeks to help ensure complete recovery without complications.
Is the brow lift technique right for you?
Same as other plastic surgery procedures, the best procedure technique is related to the patient’s characteristics (including the hairline and degree of brow drooping) and the desired outcome.
