According to a study published in JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, an average of 3.3 percent of rhinoplasties or nose jobs (about one in thirty) need revision, and according to the Web site Real Self, 90% of those who rated their rhinoplasties in the last two years said that they were worth it.
Having rhinoplasty done has become so widely accepted that some young women have begun using photographs and the Internet to document their own nose jobs and recoveries for their friends, including the transition period between the end of the surgery and the dissipation of the aftereffects. This may be because recovery can otherwise be a somewhat lonely experience — you have to stay indoors, avoid garments that have to be pulled over your face, and refrain from wearing glasses unless you can rest them on your cheeks (which for those of us who need glasses means refraining from going outside) and above all, stay away from anybody who might have a cold so you don’t start sneezing.
