Which facial plastic surgery do I need?
An eye lift is an early procedure many people think of first. Facial aging will happen to all of us. Fine-stretched lines, wrinkles, puffiness under the eyes, and sagging skin are just part of life. Your face is what someone first notices about you; the longing for youthful, radiant, smooth skin is on top of many wish lists.
Here is some information splitting the two procedures. If you are unsure which one to go for, read below before contacting Charlotte’s most experienced rhinoplasty surgeon for more helpful advice.
Charlotte NC facelifts or an eye lift procedure.
The eyes are among the first features that show signs of aging. Since the skin above and below the eye is so thin, coupled with the blinking thousands of times a day, it only makes more sense for fine lines, wrinkles, and loose skin to afflict this area quicker than others.
Since the eyes are at the center of the face, you can expect to need a facelift to counteract these signs of aging. Not so, though. Opposite to its name, face lift surgery is not aimed at the eyes. To address these issues, you may be more suited for a cosmetic procedure known as blepharoplasty or a SOOF lift if on the lower eyelid.
What these Charlotte NC plastic surgery procedures address
There are three sections on the face: upper, middle and lower. A facelift was designed to address signs of aging on the lower and middle portion of your face. This treats jowls, Nasolabial creases, the excess skin on the neck, and volume loss in the cheeks.
Face lift surgery tightens the muscles underneath and eliminates any excess skin to restore your youth.
Eyelid surgery, as you may guess, targets the eyes. This can be performed on the upper eyelid, lower eyelid, or both to address flabby skin and an excess of fat deposits, which give the eyes an aging, weary, or sad look.
When the upper eyelid is operated on, eyelid surgery will remove the excess skin and fatty tissue to open the eyes and Charlotte’s most experienced Facial Plastic Surgeon SOOF lift is performed on the lower lids, the excess fat deposits, which give the appearance of “puffy bags”, will be removed to create a rejuvenated appearance.
