Dr. Sean Freeman, a double board certified facial plastic surgeon in Charlotte NC, was invited to speak at the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery’s annual conference held at Nashville, TN from October 6 to October 8, 2016.
He taught and spoke twice during the conference, tackling the topics:
- Segmental Approach to Endoscopic Brow Surgery
- SOOF Lift, The Gold Standard
He also took part in the discussion panel on the topic Eyelid Challenges and Complications.
Dr. Freeman, surgeon at Only Faces in Charlotte NC, is the creator of the SOOF lift. This procedure, which also called blepharoplasty for the lower lids, uses an incision inside the eyelid, known as a transconjunctival incision. He devised a way to tighten the structure that contains the protruding orbital fat, returning this area of the eye to its smooth, youthful position and appearance. This improves the puffiness without causing a hollow appearance. Dr. Freeman then lifts the mid-face fat that used to be under the lower lid, called the “SOOF”. This corrects the hollow appearance under the eye.
The Annual meeting is three days of Comprehensive topic-focused tracks including: rhinoplasty, surgical facial rejuvenation, facial reconstructive surgery, business/practice management, office staff program, and one day of emerging trends and minimally invasive techniques. There were speakers from all over the world and the event was packed with educational content.
