Eye brow lifts in Charlotte, NC

Brow Lifts

Brow lifts are performed by Charlotte’s top cosmetic surgeon to help patients achieve a youthful, invigorated appearance. Brow lifts are typically performed endoscopically. During the procedure, an endoscope, which is a long, thin tube fitted with a light and video camera on one end, is inserted into the scalp by way of small incisions. Using the endoscopic technique as opposed to older eye brow lift techniques has many benefits. By creating fewer incisions, there is less scarring; results are longer lasting and more natural, and sensation completely returns to the face. There are very few risks involved with an endoscopic brow lift, and they include prolonged itching and numbness after surgery. Pain medication is normally used for 24 to 48 hours after surgery. Bruising and swelling last for 10 to 14 days, and can mostly be covered using makeup.

Segmental Approach

Your Charlotte cosmetic surgeon has pioneered three different kinds of brow lifts that cater to individual needs and conditions, allowing for more predictability of the end result. In 2013, he presented this idea to the Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery in New Orleans. The three different kinds of lifts are lateral, three-quarters, and full-brow lift. The lateral eye brow lift combats heaviness in the lateral brow. The three-quarters brow lift is for individuals with a sagging lateral brow and medial rotation. A full brow lift is for patients with a heavy lateral brow, plus medial and inferior rotation. Finally, your surgeon offers an asymmetric brow lift. Your surgeon can consult with you to clarify what type of lift best suits you, and answer any questions you may have about these terms.

Similar Surgeries

Some patients have a eye brow lift done with or in place of an eyelid lift, as they impact similar regions of the face. Individuals with sagging upper eyelids may want to have upper lid blepharoplasty depending on the fullness of their skin in the eyelid area. Oftentimes, fullness is actually caused by migration of the forehead and brow into that area. A brow lift is also a good option for patients with a naturally low brow or those with deep frown lines from stress or muscles. A facelift or mid-face lift, in which excess skin is removed and muscles are tightened, can complement a brow lift. Lastly, cosmetic injectables can further complement a brow lift to give you a more youthful appearance. Your surgeon is Dr. M.
