Physicians have safely used BOTOX Cosmetic, a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacteria, since the late 90s to improve the facial wrinkles that occur through overuse of facial muscles. Dr. Sean Freeman offers BOTOX injections, to relax the muscles that create wrinkles, thereby lessening the appearance of frown lines, laugh lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet.

Although it is now well-established as a cosmetic surgery staple, the real value of BOTOX is only realized when the procedure is performed by a skilled physician. Always an innovator, Dr. Sean Freeman performs a special technique for injections that he calls a “BOTOX browlift.” For his patients, this technique improves the position of the eyebrows while at the same time improving the appearance of wrinkles.

Patients who choose Dr. Freeman at The Center for Facial Plastic and Laser Surgery are choosing a physician who has specialized in lasers and facial cosmetic procedures since 1988.

Candidates for BOTOX

Almost anyone with dynamic wrinkles (those formed because of repeated facial muscle movement) is a candidate for BOTOX. However, patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding or who have a neurological disease should not use BOTOX. For lines and wrinkles on the lower face, you may be a better candidate for injectable fillers like RADIESSE® and Restylane®. Be sure to discuss any health conditions during your consultation.

The Procedure

A small amount of BOTOX is injected into the muscles that are responsible for creating wrinkles. BOTOX effectively deactivates the muscles that produce wrinkles, causing lines to diminish dramatically or disappear altogether. Keep in mind that it may take a few days to notice the wrinkle-smoothing effect after a BOTOX injection.

Dr. Freeman’s BOTOX injections are quick and painless, and the results usually last 3 to 6 months. After that, you may return for a follow-up injection. Patients often report that, after several treatments, the results of BOTOX appear to last up to several months longer than their original results.
