As we age we develop wrinkles and lines on our face. These can make us appear older than we are or than we feel. The forehead is especially vulnerable to development of deep wrinkles or lines. During our lifetime, many of us unconsciously wrinkle our foreheads when we are concentrating or thinking and eventually, these lines become permanently etched in our brows. A brow lift is a facial plastic surgery procedure where Dr. M. Sean Freeman, Charlotte’s best facial plastic surgeon tightens and lifts the forehead, smoothing out the wrinkles and lines and providing his patient’s a refreshed and younger appearance.
Dr. Freeman’s endoscopic brow lift
Dr. Freeman performs an endoscopic brow lift which uses very small incisions and results in very little scarring. Dr. Freeman developed and perfected this facial plastic surgery procedure and uses it frequently on his patients with tremendous success. The procedure uses an endoscope which is a long, thin tube that has a video camera mounted on the end. Dr. Freeman inserts the endoscope through tiny incisions in the scalp. The camera then provides Dr. Freeman a view of the internal structure of the forehead so he can perform intricate surgical improvements with the utmost accuracy. There are several benefits to an endoscopic brow lift, including less scarring because of the extremely tiny incisions, a complete return of sensation to the forehead area, and a much more long lasting and natural result. There are typically no complications during an endoscopic brow lift, although some patients may experience itching or a numbness after surgery. These will abate over time.
Dr. Freeman’s segmental approach to the female brow lift
Dr. Freeman recognizes that every person is different, so he tailors his recommendations for surgery to each individual’s situation. As a part of this approach to facial plastic surgery, Dr. Freeman developed a new method of endoscopic brow lift surgery for women. Dr. Freeman’s goal is to always provide the most natural looking results possible from any of his facial plastic surgery procedures. With this in mind, Dr. Freeman developed three different types of surgeries for a brow lift, depending upon the woman. This approach provides better and more predictable results providing each Charlotte NC patient with natural, long-lasting results.
Following an endoscopic brow lift
After surgery, Dr. Freeman will prescribe his Charlotte NC patients pain medication which they will take for 24 to 48 hours. Patients may experience swelling and bruising following the brow lift, but these will disappear within 10 to 14 days after surgery. A patient may begin using make up again within a day or two following surgery. Dr. Freeman performs each brow lift at his clinic, The Center for Facial and Plastic Laser Surgery in Charlotte NC.
