Nose job recovery questions and answers

Charlotte NC nose job recovery questions
I know I shouldn’t take aspirin or ibuprofen. Are there any painkillers I can take?
Yes, and your surgeon should prescribe them. For the first few days, you’ll need them.

Is there any way I can make the swelling go down faster?
Cold packs may help. Ask your rhinoplasty surgeon if they’re a good idea. Also, try to sleep sitting up, with a neck pillow to support your head.

Are there any foods I should avoid?
Salty foods can cause inflammation, so avoid them. Otherwise, try to eat. You need calories to heal.

What about sunlight?
Try to avoid too much of it. Your nose might still be numb, so you could easily get a bad sunburn without realizing it. A sunburn now could distort the end results.

I’m told I shouldn’t blow my nose while it’s healing. That sounds like good advice, but how do I stop myself from doing that?
The simplest way is to limit your contact with other people. Stay in touch online or over the phone. Also, wash your hands more often. According to the CDC, regular hand washing can reduce respiratory illness on a community-wide basis by 16 to 21 percent. That doesn’t tell you how much you will improve your personal odds, but it does suggest this is a useful strategy. Also, make a note of how many times you touch your face every day and try to reduce it (this is good advice anyway, as it keeps your hands away from your nose). If the worst comes to the worst, try to sneeze through your mouth.
