Charlotte NC nose job preparation questions

How do I get ready for a nose job?
Make sure you have a lot of time set aside for yourself at home, with a minimum of obligations to others. Have plenty of beverages and lip balm — you’ll be breathing through your mouth a lot, and you don’t want it to get too dry.

I know you’re not supposed to wear glasses, but I’m severely nearsighted and can’t go without them, even at home, for that long. What do I do about this?
Get some prescription contacts a few weeks before the surgery. Give yourself time to get used to them.

I know you’re not supposed to smoke for two weeks before surgery. How about vaping?
Unfortunately, the basic problem isn’t smoke, it’s nicotine. Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, which means it causes blood vessels to constrict. This slows down the healing process. So no vaping and no nicotine gum.

Are there any medicines I should stay away from, and how long should I stay off them?
For the two weeks before surgery, you should avoid the following:
• Aspirin.
• Ibuprofen.
• Naproxen.
• Vitamin E.
• Omega-3 fatty acids and fish oil.
• Herbal garlic, flaxseed oil and ginkgo biloba supplements.
All of these may cause excess bleeding by slowing the clotting process.

(Don’t take it for granted that this list is complete. Instead, tell your facial plastic surgeon about everything you take, and follow his or her advice on whether or not to keep taking it during this period.)
